In my oil on canvas piece, "Walking," I explore the profound emotions tied to longing for one's homeland while navigating the challenges of living in a foreign land. Depicting three figures strolling through the cityscape, I channel my own experiences of isolation and homesickness. The act of walking serves as a metaphor for the journey of adaptation and self-discovery in an unfamiliar environment.
The canvas encapsulates a deep sense of nostalgia and vulnerability, portraying the inner conflict of yearning for the past and embracing the present. Through the interplay of colors, textures, and the subjects' body language, I invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences of displacement and the universal human desire for connection and belonging.
